Review on 🎨 SoHo Urban Artist Watercolor Field Easel in Carry Case - Lightweight, Height Adjustable, Foldable for Travel Painting - Black Anodized Aluminum by Shantel Griffin

rear leg closes when easel is moved

I like the easel. I wanted the surface of the painting to be able to tilt more horizontally for watercolors. I use this in my studio now for that. However, the back leg (two pins to the side, the other goes straight back) doesn't stay fully open even if the easel moves a little. Usually you see some kind of blockage point or just hardness that prevents this. So when I hit the easel, the back foot moves forward (towards me). I worry about the leg (especially when I'm in the field with it) creeping further forward, until the whole thing falls behind without that support. That would be bad. It only has one screw holding it to the pivot so I tried tightening it but didn't solve the problem. I like it for its ease of use, light weight and relative cost. However, I cannot give 5 stars for this rear leg.

Pros
  • Watercolor attachment holds pads, chalkboards or paper up to 22" x 30" and adjusts to different angles
Cons
  • Can't remember but there was something
