This ORIGINAL JOE DEODORIZER DRESSER RUG is a lightweight vinyl mesh mat with an absorbent paper mat on the backing. This is a functional toilet mat that might last a few weeks (until it's soaked through). The absorbent mat is easy to peel off, so you can probably figure out how to replace it with something else absorbent (disposable paper mat? washable cloth mat?). However, this is NOT a permanent reusable toilet mat, it is expensive for a disposable toilet mat. It also adds a lot of volume to the garbage that is sent to the landfill. The rug doesn't fit me at all because it's too narrow to be held by the legs of my pull-out handle drawer (which sits over a regular toilet). Any carpet near my toilet needs to be non-slip or fixed to keep it from moving. This mat is non-slip. What works for me is a large, washable mattress pad (like the Priva 4-pack mattress protector) with a cut out in the middle (using regular scissors) to make room for the toilet. The dresser legs then hold the large rug in place. The mattress topper is machine washable although the scissors will leave raw edges.
