Used it for one night and returned it for the 5X version. It's a decent block and I had a lot of fun with it. It certainly greatly improves the available night light and makes objects visible to your eye. Sharpness is very good in the center but not so good at the edges. Although I have read that this is normal. The manual says infrared light isn't visible to the human eye, but the people you shine it on can see it. However, it's okay. My main issue was the lack of some sort of strap. Either a wrist strap or a strap will do. I held on to the machine all night to keep from dropping it. On a cold night, this greatly complicates the task. I see that the 5x version has a wrist strap. I will take it. Also worth noting; As soon as I put the battery in, it turned on without pressing the switch. And the LED stayed on no matter how many times I turned it on and off. Maybe I received a defective block? It looks very well made. Made in Russia. They are known for making high quality optics at low cost.
