I bought this cleaner because it received the highest rating from Consumer Reports. Obviously, the ability to empty the tested teats was not tested, otherwise the LG model would have been rated _much_ lower. If you have pets with long hair, do not buy this vacuum cleaner. The trash can is almost full with the internal filter, leaving only about 1/4 inch of space between the outside wall of the filter and the inside wall of the trash can for whatever you're vacuuming off the floor. Long pet hair easily clogs this space. and turns emptying the canister into a messy PIA. You have to manually pull out the contents of the canister with your fingers and a stick - phew! You can't empty the canister indoors because the dirt and dust that clogs in the pt hair will spread out in a messy, sticky cloud. I live in the country and clear mine outside. If it's windy, I put him on his back, then I have to wipe the outside of the vacuum cleaner with a damp cloth, put my clothes in the laundry and then take a shower. A friend of mine bought a Dyson and she can empty it into an indoor bin with no hassle or fuss. I'm in the process of replacing my expensive LG with a Dyson. My opinion of CR has dropped.
