No more slipping on stairs

These things are great! It is very easy to slip on wooden or concrete stairs with spikes. They make walking more stable and won't scratch the wooden stairs. They're a bit bulky to carry around, though, so you might want to leave room in your saddlebag or make sure you have the clips provided. I've noticed a lot of people complain about them not fitting or falling off. It may be helpful to know that they will not fit SPD cleats used on mountain bike pedals. They are only suitable for SPD-SL pedals designed for road bikes. Even if your spikes are SPD-SL compatible, they may not fit properly. I have Shimano SPD-SL SM-SH10/SM-SH12 self-centering cleats and they work great. You can also use spikes without floats (red buffers). They've never fallen off when I've worn them and I really don't see how they could do that unless you're hiking down a gravel hill on the moon.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Good but not great
