Looks expensive, but overall partly worth the money

Yes, the price is high. You can buy cheaper components and assemble them yourself. Here are a few reasons I love this set and a few reasons you should build your own. This kit uses two Hella relays which are premium and more expensive than various auto parts. Painless has bundled the common wiring between the relays so nothing is wasted and you only need to connect power and ground (besides the lamps themselves). I quote) and the other was 1/4 or so (for the ground wire.) There are also self tapping screws for attachment, you can see it in the photo. need to shorten or lengthen something, it's easy to open and do. Headlight connects to standard plug. You'll be routing the new wire across the front of the car somewhere between the headlights, so you'll need to plan how it will be routed. The downside I found was the size of the pre-assembled headlight connectors, which were too big to fit through the holes. in the housing, forcing me to choose between cutting the wires and reconnecting the plugs after threading them through the factory holes, or routing the wires to the lamps somewhere more visible. Because of this, there really isn't anything "wrong" with the system, just something to consider if you're thinking about building your own. electrical wiring for your car. If this isn't a problem for you, then there are several reasons to build your own that you might enjoy. First, you can choose exactly where you want to connect, and wiring can be easier since you're running individual wires. instead of a machine. Secondly, since the factory connectors stay in place, you most likely won't need to fiddle with the headlights themselves, because. All wiring changes take place elsewhere. If you have hard-to-reach headlight spots, this is key. Third, cost. I bet you can find a relay cheap enough to beat the price of a kit. In my case I needed an assembled kit, didn't have time to mess with the wiring, or so I thought. This made the installation very easy, which makes me very happy. However, I will build my own using my old Chevy truck and go the cheap route. I wish you success.
