WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE?

WHERE WAS MY ALL LIFE? I've always used Prisma Scholars or Prisma Soft Core and when I found these Prisma watercolors that can be used in adult coloring books (judge for yourself!) I was all "this is perfect!". Yes. Yes! Mixing is very easy and unlike softcore I don't keep breaking them. They are comfortable to hold and have excellent coverage. I colored the whole image with 6-7 different colors and only had to sharpen one so far. They have a strong pigment, so using them with a light hand is much easier than the soft core version. Unlike scientists, they don't. It creates a sharp thin line on our paper, leaving it a little dull, creating a softer and blended look. This suggests you can use water and a brush to blend, which I haven't been able to do yet. I look forward to it, especially alongside coloring books. I don't like watercolors as they usually don't give me the effect I want. However, I feel like these Prismacolor pens give me the opportunity to create the watercolor creations I've been craving. I look forward to trying them on gesso and craft boards. They come in a split tin can as shown in the picture. I would recommend a prism sharpener or a sharpener specifically designed for watercolor pencils

Pros
  • Combined with a brush and water-soluble cores, you can blend flowing liquids and achieve shimmering effects
Cons
  • Expensive
