Review on 🚲 XLC Alum Mountain Bike Pedals with 9/16" Spindle by Kevin Parker

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Solid value for money pedal

Really good pedals that hold up well for several hundred miles. Due to the one-piece construction, there is practically no annoying pedal noise. Yes mine were tight and yes I installed them correctly, let them run free what happens when the new bearings are seated and then set correctly - hence my only annoyance. If the pedals are to be adjusted, make it easy to remove the dust cap without damaging it. But for that they get a very solid five stars for performance and value. I'm a city dweller so can't attest to their durability when riding over rocks, but I've cut them too close to curbs a couple of times and aside from the inevitable abrasion they didn't give at all despite lifting the wheel. I try not to do this too often.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors
