✫ Tapered tip like an aluminum Boye hook (not the built-in type you find on Susan Bates) ✫ NOT soft and comfortable grip as I first expected. The colored handle is actually a hard material with a rubbery texture, but its shape is ergonomic.✫ Most hooks are about the same length as standard Susan Bates aluminum and half an inch shorter than Boyes aluminum.✫ Although I was disappointed wasn't soft at first, the shape really helps to avoid cramps and fatigue. ✫ If you search for ergonomic crochet hooks on Revain, you will see hundreds of sets very similar to these. They are NOT the same but have similar properties. Same length on most; slightly different handle shape; a softer grip with a more rubberized texture (which I don't like); not as smooth as a hook.✫ Clover also makes a "soft touch" hook with a gold handle. The oval handle is good but not soft, and the hook itself is very small and difficult to hold the yarn. To be honest, I despise them.✫ Susan Bates makes a soft-grip crochet hook. The soft grip is basically a foam grip with no real ergonomic shape, but I like its extra long grip and sometimes prefer it to the Clover Amour. They're an inch longer than Amour.✫ The small and medium hooks are made of metal with a brushed nickel finish and a smooth surface. Large sizes - seamless plastic.
