I’ve been wanting to get some outdoor lighting for the outdoor deck that’s next to our in ground pool for years but just never seamed to think about it when I was in store or ordering online. Obviously the lights needed to be waterproof. They would be going near the pool but under a pavilion. I also didn’t want to have to take them down in the winter time as that’s just a pain. I happened upon these HBN smart outdoor patio lights and thought to myself that it would be super cool to be able to switch the colors to match the seasons and holidays. So here we are.These come in just a regular brown box with no extra packaging or anything like that which was actually nice. I hate having to take like 10 minutes to just get items out of boxes that have 30 different ties and plastic and foam everywhere so simple was great.Now I will say I was a bit hesitant when I first opened the box of these. The cord is super super thick and jet black. I was worried they were going to look like heavy duty extension cords basically anywhere I put them and end up looking terrible. But on the flip side that also means that these should have no issues with breaking or water getting in or anything like that. They should definitely last even though out the winter months.Now I’m not going to lie, I did download the app but I also know myself and I will most likely hardly ever use it. I just have to many smart devices that use to many different apps and can’t keep track of which goes to what items. So it’s nice that they have an option to switch certain things manually also. From what I can tell these don’t look like you can change the bulbs. I’m not positive though and might be wrong about that. So that might become a problem later down the road. I will also say that these arnt going to get super duper bright. They get bright enough to see but it’s not going to be a flood light even on the highest setting. I’m fine with that though.Overall I’m really liking these for the most part. There are a few things I wish they would have done different. And I also wish the cord wasn’t jet black since it sticks out like a sore thumb with how thick it is. But for the most part I’m happy with them!
