Never leaks. However, black dots that looked like mold appeared on the silicone gasket. They showed up faster on the one I drink Mio flavored water from. I've washed it several times. I've tried vinegar, alcohol, and chlorinated water. These stains won't go away and it's just gross to see every time I open the lid to drink water so I stopped using it. They showed up after about 5-6 months for the bottle I use for plain water and about 2 months for flavored water. Nalgene water bottles are so good that I lived up to the brand name with this accessory. The other major downside is that I bought it to use my Nalgene bottle in the car so I didn't have to constantly buy disposables. Score. If I just kept buying new ones, how much better for the environment would that be than single-use plastic bottles?
