I was a little disappointed with the unexpectedly soft or flexible rubbery plastic. It didn't work for me - UNTIL I saw the handle being formed. It has a peculiar inner lip. I used it upside down, it slipped over the lid with no quick grip. When applied correctly on the lid, it will hold without slipping. Except it's not as good as the metal type I had that doesn't require hand strength, but this one does. I bought two, one for my daughter. She is very happy with hers as arthritis also weakens her grip. In general, a handy helper for opening cans of different sizes. If I didn't have a metal one to compare it to (which worked like an oil filter wrench and broke after so many years), I'd probably give it five stars.
