Review on ๐Ÿ”‹ Maximizing Battery Monitoring: Introducing the Portable Battery Meter by Joseph Hamilton

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Better than most think.

I bought this to test my motorhome. Although the generator section tests high-normal-low voltage, the voltage thresholds are surprisingly similar to a typical smart RV (and marine) charger. Compensation Fees. By re-labeling the battery tester I can see what condition the charger is in. True, it won't be 100% accurate as the voltages are slightly different, but it's probably 85% accurate. This only really works with flooded lead-acid batteries, as AGM and other chemicals require a slightly different voltage charger. Knowing the state of charge of your smart charger can be helpful in determining the health of your battery. For example, the smart charger will switch to bulk charge mode when the battery charge is less than 80%. When the battery is between 80% and 100% charged, the smart charger will switch to absorption mode (aka normal) and when the battery is fully charged, it will switch to trickle charge mode. So if your charger frequently goes into bulk download mode, your battery is probably dead and has less capacity than it used to. If your trailer is in storage but the charger is still connected to shore power, the charger should remain in float mode. , antenna booster or USB charger. Or it could also indicate that the battery is getting weaker. So, in addition to automotive use, this is a great, inexpensive device to monitor your RV or boat.
