This is a very decent camera but there are two things I don't like about it. First, the color sometimes fades. As mentioned in other reviews, there is no native software for this thing. Any image quality control depends on the program in which the camera is used. Skype has changeable camera settings, but none of them eliminated the lightening I experienced. Adjusting the brightness either made everything too dark or my skin and other lighter colors were too white. The other settings didn't help either. Second, I don't like the focus/field of view. With this camera I can see myself and 15 feet of my back wall and everything else there. That is, the field of view is too large. That's a camera 2 feet from my face. If you look at the photos of other users, you will understand what I'm talking about. That might be fine if you're trying to get the whole family involved, but if it's just you then this camera doesn't seem ideal. I just turned it back on and got closer to see what was happening: when my face was 16 inches away I filled 1/3 of the screen but the other 2/3 on either side was clearly visible and actually really sharp , unlike my face. It seems that at 2 feet the sharpness of focus starts to increase, but then I only fill about 1/4 of the screen. I will say I love the mounting clip, it works great on my monitor. I also like the privacy shutter, but I just turn the camera off when not in use.
