Review on Urban Riding & Cycle Touring Pedal - Shimano PD-T8000: Dual-Platform by Mark Loebis

They were big petals. They are light and well balanced

Those were big petals. They are lightweight, well balanced and very easy to put on and take off. It's great to have a staple-free side when hitting some tender spots on the road. Even with spikes on the sole of the shoe they sit comfortably on the clip free side because there is a concave area for the spike to fit - well thought out. But now, after only 2 months and less than 500 miles, the right earlobe started making a creaking noise, which turned into a grinding noise at the end of the trip. This is only the right petal and only under load. I read some reviews a while back that Shimano had issues with some bearings but I thought that was fixed. It's quite concerning because for the price I expected they would be more durable, we're planning a cross country bike ride and I can't let the petals fail.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • A little change
