I bought these for my Arduino project. All three came with 8MHz crystals. Jumpers for 120 ohm terminators were not included in the kit, so I had to purchase them separately. was disappointed with the "arduino-CAN" library that is part of the Arduino IDE. Even an MCP with crystal at 8 MHz cannot be reliably started. You can see many pull requests for this library on GitHub, some of them help to solve my problems. To get the best performance out of these boards, I replaced the oscillators with 16MHz crystals. I also re-soldered the connectors to go from the bottom to make it easier to install these boards on a prototyping breadboard. With these mods, one of the boards now lives semi-permanently in my car with no issues, and the other two are useful for testing ideas outside of the car. I hope that the next generation of these boards will feature 16MHz crystals, be easily pluggable into breadboards, and use the more compact MCP25625 chip instead of the older MCP2515.
