Review on Amcrest Doorbell Detection Weatherproof Wide Angle by Charlie Dillon

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Another GREAT Amcrest product at a great price

Like most Amcrest products I've come across, this setup was quick and easy (and would have been even quicker if I'd followed the instructions!) . My house is really old and there was no doorbell. With the help of a $25 transformer (and my dad's), I was able to easily hook this video doorbell up to a power source and get it working. Hooking up a transformer for power can be a bit of a hassle depending on your front door setup and availability. Mine was pretty simple and easy. And since most homes have doorbells, this is probably a moot point for you. The device itself comes with mounting plates that allow you to tilt the camera up and down or left and right. I didn't think it was necessary, but we ended up using left/right to center the video. This is a great feature as otherwise you will have to use spacers or other methods to set up the camera which makes it look ugly and greatly reduces the security of the product. I'm currently using this with free cloud storage AND a micro SD card. . If you're like me, you probably have the last 3 phones you used on a shelf somewhere. Check out these baddies and see if you have an extra SD card! I'm not sure how much the card will hold, but it was a simple situation where you drop it and go. The camera itself looks very stylish, but still has a "don't mess with this house" feeling. , it's safe." In other words, it doesn't feel like a cheap toy. It's a bit big anyway compared to similar products, but I think it helps with the deterrent; when people take the camera from can see from a distance they will be less likely to fiddle with things on my porch love it the video is clear and sharp with a good wide angle street and of course everyone on the porch (my dad is an idiot who im screenshot pretends to be a criminal) I'm really impressed with the quality of the video - I'm in video production so I know it can cost a lot of money to get a decent picture with a camcorder, this one definitely makes a great one I didn't get a chance to use Job with its two-way audio feature, but we tested it when we installed the camera and the built-in microphone made it easy to hear those on the porch talking about something. And the person on the porch could hear me very well, so I'm sure it will work great if I need to use this feature. There is. Being able to select a notification only when a person is detected is AWESOME and works really well. I would like to know when something has been delivered or when a dealer is at the door. It's important to know who's at your door before you open it, and the AD410 makes that possible. What I like least is the app itself. Despite having very strong WiFi and Google Fiber, it takes a while to load and buffer, and when I get a notification and try to see what's going on in real time, it sometimes takes a while longer than 15 seconds. well, in the past. Also, there doesn't seem to be a nice "Scroll" option to quickly scroll through the video. I plan to integrate this into PC rather than relying on cloud recording, so I'm hoping to bypass the app altogether. I don't know how it will turn out, but so far the application is better than nothing. My dad has a video doorbell from another company and has many of the same loading and buffering issues so this could be something both manufacturers can fix with future firmware updates. Overall, this is another great purchase from Amcrest. They never disappoint. I give the doorbell camera 5/5 and the app 4/5.
