Fully replaceable fan assembly. If your fan assembly has this part number, it is a replacement connector. No special skills or tools are required. EDIT: I read a few other reviews so thought I should add some info. You may have to climb a ladder and stretch overhead. It would be a good idea to turn off the device. I needed pliers and a Phillips #2 screwdriver. I also used a vacuum to clean the case. If you notice the old block coming out, inserting the new block shouldn't be a problem. The old unit was 9 years old in a heavily used bathroom with walk in shower. I have several devices of this type, so I have already ordered another spare part to have in stock.
