Review on πŸ¦’ Fisher-Price Jumperoo Activity Center for Animals, Blue, One-Size by Charles Fowler

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good and bad - wheels are badly needed, but they aren't.

I am writing this review 1.5 months after purchase. Pros: 1. This basically allows my child to have fun or at least feel content by looking at me from the seat while I'm doing something. She has been using this since she was 5 months old (now she is 6.5 months old), for about 1 hour in the morning and 30 minutes (during lunch) in the evening.2. I love that you can attach things to the top red heights.3. I like that the seat upholstery is easy to clean with a damp, soapy cloth as it air dries fairly quickly.4. I think it helps my baby develop stronger legs but when I hold him he tends to lift one leg up so he can stand up and I think it's because he's so used to jumping like that . So maybe that's half con .5. I like that it rotates. Big tip: when assembling, apply some bio oil or just olive oil around the circle to make it spin. I did it right away because read reviews where it's hard to twist. I had one too so I oiled it and it kept turning easier. Cons: 1. He badly needs wheels under it, and there aren't any. It was a HUGE mistake by the creator not to have them. Carrying this thing from room to room is awful and impossible if you're carrying a child in one arm because they don't transfer their weight well when lifted. Even if it's moved by 2 people, it doesn't feel right. It was so easy to do. to create wheels with locks and elevators to secure it in place or easily move it to another room. 2. It looks like it was made to make left handers. At 2 out of 3 stations there are complex tasks on the left that require manual dexterity. That really worries me. Things are made more convenient for right-handers, and it's a disservice if your child doesn't develop right-hand dexterity. My left-handed sister agrees, and it annoys her too. He claims you can attach suction cups to empty spots, but for some reason none of the toys we bought to suck on are left. And we tested them on our feeding table where they stay nice and cuddly. So it's definitely this sweater's material that doesn't suck in - which is what you wish for, because the wards get bored pretty quickly for a kid. 4. If my child jumps up and down for too long, which happens at least 3-4 days a week, they will rub their thighs. I had to apply a very thick layer of baby powder. The leg openings are too narrow, which brings me to another negative point. It is very difficult for a child to get in and out of this thing. My husband felt so bad about how hard we had to grab her (under the arms) to pull her out, he figured out how to get her down on her knees and rock her into a better position to gently push her closer to her waist. But it's just ridiculous how hard it is to figure it out. Whenever we pull her out the whole set goes up with her so we always have to bend down and push her backwards which is annoying as we're doing it quite low while standing and holding the baby. 6. I find the stations pretty boring. She pulls on some things that won't move as if to pull them out and is a little frustrated that they don't slide out. You should have done this with different levels where you can replace those boring levels with more exciting and detailed ones as your kid gets bored or matures in their physical skills. I hope this review helps you decide, or at least gives you an idea of what to expect. I feel 50/50 on recommending it. There could be something better but I like it; that gives me 1 hour and then 30 minutes. a day to do something as long as she keeps an eye on me. I recommend not abusing it or using it for too long. The child develops best when spoken to and taught and read to in an expressive way, face to face.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Expensive
