Installed in my 2018 m3. My model year M3 does not come with a pre-filter from the factory, but I decided to give it a try. Never had a problem with the cabin filter. The design is bad. One side is flat and the other is shaped like a standard filter. When installed, the flat part of the filter faces outwards. The low-profile design itself reduces surface area, restricts intake airflow, and likely makes the fan more difficult to operate. Didn't see it in the photos before I bought it. I see no difference between a pre-filter and an OEM cabin filter. I see that when it rains the pre-filter can get wet and affect airflow. I'll leave it on until that happens and probably won't replace it.
