I bought this lock based on the good reviews but after installing this lock I had problem after problem. The fingerprint reader is very buggy and works 50% of the time. I came home late one night and due to the freezing wind blowing at 20 degrees the fingerprint reader decided not to accept any of my fingers and quickly blocked all attempts including fingerprint, keyboard and number key after 5 attempts to gain access. . WTF? So I had to sit back and in the car with the heater on until the lock reset and try again! This is unacceptable! Blocked after 5 attempts! I understand the company is trying to implement security measures to keep bad people out, but it's ridiculous when a lock is so weak that it takes more than 5 attempts to pick it. At least give us the ability to toggle this feature on and off or adjust the number of attempts before you get banned. When you contact support, a computer with basic setup help will reply to emails until at least your 4th or 5th email is answered by a human. I've also found that the lock motor is very weak compared to other locks I've had and sometimes won't fully close without assistance. Attention buyers! Update 11th December 2021 Unfortunately after over a month of problems with this lock I had to send the Rook lock back to Revain for a refund. After the Rook app failed to connect to the lock, which happened more than a couple of times. I tried resetting the lock and app and after waiting 8 minutes for the rook server to log in, I then connected bluetooth and then got stuck in an endless queue and never got into the setup menu. I suspect it's trying to connect to a foreign server in China and never completes. I'm just tired of worrying about whether or not I can get into my house, so I'll move on to the Eufy smart lock and hopefully have better luck with it.
