I've had this item for a long time, the nozzles sometimes slip out, but if you handle it gently and carefully, you won't hurt yourself. You get what you pay for, and for me, a mandolin that I might only use once a month to make potato chips or hash browns or some augratine. I will not invest in a device over $50. If you are looking for something to add to your five star kitchen then look elsewhere but this item works and I am happy with it. also to the one who cut his finger there - you don't have to cut by hand, use the glider they give you and you won't have this problem :)
