Review on Accurate HQRP 2-Pin Moisture Meter: Wood/Drywall & Home Inspection Tool by King Reeves

Works very well - scanner and tester

I have found the JT-2G Wood/Firewood Moisture Meter to be very good at detecting whether my firewood is ready to burn or not. My neighbor and I did a little test yesterday. First, I took a well-dried plank of wood that had been sitting in my basement (which was very dry) for years and tested it with a meter. There was a null value that I thought should be measuring. According to the product information, ready-to-burn wood should have a maximum value of 20. We then measured a piece of wood that looked ready to fire, but it was a batch not suitable for firing. ready. The measurement was well above 20, confirming that the wood was too wet. We then measure a piece of wood (grasshopper) that was under the top cover with airflow on the sides, which my neighbor thought was very dry, having been felled and stacked two or more years ago (but in a poor airflow location ). air and lack of sun). It turned out to be a size 19 (good enough to burn) but not as dry as suggested. Some dead locusts cut and stacked in the sun with excellent airflow this spring turned out to be even drier, according to JT-2G. Reburning wood as the primary source of heat for the home and deciding what not to burn to avoid excess creosote build-up. Conversely, it has helped me to realize that wood I thought wasn't ready to burn is actually ready to burn. Would I buy the device again? You bet! My neighbor, who has heated with firewood for many years, is now looking at it too.
