seems to work pretty well at room temperature. Wood, but the tines are flimsy and I've bent one just to test the wood. Also, it doesn't work well or at all in cold temperatures, making it useless in the woods or outside in a woodshed.

If you manage a small number of apartments or are an active homeowner, this is a useful tool at a reasonable price. It gives you the information you need to keep your home safe and dry.

I bought this product to assess whether the firewood is "seasoned" or not. That said, I want to make sure whatever goes into my chimney has 20% or less moisture. This tool works well. exactly what I had hoped for. Cheap and easy.
