Olson FB23180DB 1/2 x .025 x 80 inch HEFB Band 3 TPI Hook Saw (Pictures coming soon) Summary: Great blade at a good price (about $10 at time of review). Suitable for homeowners and semi-professionals. Discussion: Bought for sawing maple and general store use. He worked like a pro on a saw that was used professionally in a sailboat repair shop before I bought it. I was able to cut over 7" maple with relatively straight lines and clean cuts. Pros: - Affordable price - Sharpness - Stability. Cons: - Not as good as a really high quality disc. up to 7" thick (saw performance) - Some blade deflection , especially early in the cut - Cannot cut 7" thick wood without excessive blade deflection - Plywood - Tested to ¾" with minimal blade deflection. Cuts quickly and cleanly. Softwood: Tested Spruce and Pine 3/4” (right) that cuts cleanly and quickly Very Softwood: Tested, well aged/sanded Maple to recut to about 7 1/4”. Experienced minimal blade wonder even with thick wood. The cuts were clean and not burned. The cutting speed was significantly faster than I expected given the power of the saw. up to 7 ¼" easily on this saw).
