Review on ๐Ÿ’พ Crucial MX300 750GB SATA 2.5" Internal SSD - CT750MX300SSD1 by Matt Kucrud

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Stay away! Crucial SSD keeps crashing and has many corruption errors according to DiskUtility (MacBook Pro)

) ) with this 750GB Crucial SSD. I updated another one in November 2015 and it works fine. Crucial (#2) runs much faster than expected. However, about 4 weeks after installation I noticed a lot of random shutdowns and spinning globes. I didn't think much about it until these episodes became more frequent. I started running DiskUtility and every time I run it I get some kind of corruption error, bad block count error or invalid free block, which DiskUtility seems to fix successfully. . Then comes after 1 minute a new error. Now random outages almost every day with no indication of when it will happen. Meanwhile (#1), which is 3 years older and less powerful than the MacBook, continues to work great and never throws an error in DiskUtility. I may have the cons of the Crucial SSD, but it might just be a cheaper product. Unfortunately my 30 day replacement period for Revain has expired so I will try to contact Crucial to see how they are honoring their warranty. I will update this when I interact directly with Crucial. I'm only giving it 2 stars because of the speed increase. However, stay away from it.
