I write a lot, mostly I actually make quite a few backups and save my files. I'm paranoid about losing things and always save to more than one medium. I've had great success using the TDK+R DVD for this task with no problems. Then I made the mistake of literally buying -R to do the same and it was a complete disaster. (See separate review.) So I had to buy replacement DVDs and settled on them. I've used it twice so far to save files and open and modify them with no problems. So far, so good. If that changes I'll update this review, but so far I've liked them. They do what they are supposed to do for me, but now I understand that DVDs, unlike CDs, tend to be manufactured and recorded for use with more flaws, i.e. defects, so they don't work the way we receive them they should. All in all, for me, a great DVD for storing and backing up documents. I don't know about films because I don't use them for that.
