Goes well with my now discontinued 5 gallon ShopVac SS11-450 (5986000). The pouch is quite awkward to install but once placed on the intake deflector it stays in place and works well. When you're vacuuming up smaller (dry) dirt, the filter bag helps keep dust from splattering all over the place. An exhaust filter will also work, but tends to clog much quicker and cost more if you damage the filter during the cleaning process. For very fine dirt, a combination of bag filter and outlet filter should be used. The bags also speed up cleaning. After trying unsuccessfully to clear a clogged filter, I now always use a bag. highlighted.
