This paper is not suitable for calligraphy. The grid is very simple and only suitable for cursive calligraphy due to the slant. I've tried two different pointed nibs, the Leonardt Principal EF nib and the Brause nib, and both often caught on the paper - the nibs kept catching on bits of fiber and spattering the ink. I used Higgins Eternal Ink and my letters bleed through the ink and got a streak effect where the letters bled profusely. Overall there was a lot of seepage. I was very disappointed. As an alternative, I would recommend The John Neal Book Copperplate Engrossers Pad. The slope is slightly different, but the mesh is more detailed.
