I really like this little thing. It was very easy to assemble and use. Before I got this, I cooked my brown potatoes by passing the potatoes through a paring knife and then slicing the potato strands into smaller pieces before placing them in the pan. But with that I don't have to overcome all these problems. The loading chute is large enough that I only have to make a large potato slice or two to load into the slicer. I slice a large potato into hash browns in about three turns of the handle. It was wonderful! Some have reported that the suction cup at the base is not good. I almost didn't buy the device as this suction cup is necessary to keep the device stable to rotate the handle. The first attempt to use it discouraged me because I have a grouted tile countertop and I couldn't get the suction to stick. I have a textured glass cutting board and it doesn't stick to it either. I suddenly had the inspiration to try it on a metal stovetop (center between the burners) and it locked and wouldn't let go. So, using my glass bowl on one of the burners, I very quickly cut hash browns on the stovetop. mid 70's) and am determined to have solid surface worktops. I am really looking forward to this day.
