Awesome for Beginners

Years ago a friend tried to teach me how to knit continental style on old aluminum needles. I tried and tried but I just couldn't figure it out. The thread kept flying off the needles. A few weeks ago I heroically decided to knit my boyfriend a scarf for Christmas. No ifs, ands or buts about it; it had to happen or I would have died trying. I've watched videos on YouTube and other online sites and noticed that many people use bamboo needles. So I bought a pair of size 8 Clover needles and some yarn and got started. Who cares what bamboo does. I knit and purl now. It may also help that I now use the American/English crochet style which is said to be easier for beginners. The needles wrap around the yarn quite tightly so I don't lose the stitches like I used to. The yarn does not slip sloppily but has enough slack for comfortable and easy knitting. Being only 9 inches long, they are much more ergonomic and put less strain on hands and wrists than longer needles. My scarf fits so well that I ordered a pair of Brittany 19 needles a few days ago and have since started knitting a thicker and shorter scarf for myself. Next project: knit hat and knit in rounds. (Wish me luck!) I know how to knit, so can you. But now I also enjoy going to craft shops, places I used to only look at from afar because I've never had the faintest idea how to USE what I found inside. I can't draw, paint or play a musical instrument, but I CAN knit and crochet and create amazing things. I finally managed to channel my artistic inner child! Buy these needles. You will not regret it. In my very limited experience, both Brittany and Clover needles are great for beginner knitters.
