Before you decide to buy, you should find out about the advantages and disadvantages of powerline adapters. I live in a narrow house that is more spacious vertically with more floors. Drilling and routing cables isn't easy, so I needed a different network solution. Wi-Fi is okay, but when I ran a speed test, I wasn't happy with the drop in speed or inconsistent results. I knew beforehand that I would see different results depending on the power line setup in your house. I also knew there was a chance they wouldn't work at all depending on the specifics of your home switch. Interference from certain devices also plays a role. I was desperate so I took it upon myself. I was very impressed with the results. Not only did it work, but I can access almost my entire bandwidth from every room in the house. Even with my basement router and the upstairs adapter, I didn't see more than a 10 percent drop in speed (maximum) on some tests. Loading is affected more than loading, but not by much. I will be buying a few more of these and would highly recommend them if you know they can work in your home. A lot of the negative reviews here seem unfair. Powerline adapters are not a one-stop network solution and are a limitation of technology, not product. Please make sure they work beforehand or be prepared to spend money to see if they work.
