Bought a 6" x 5" Heavy Duty Lathe and an 8" x 4" Lathe. The second dimension is the blade width. The blades flex very little (mainly at the handle). Both sit handle up on the counter/grill. The blade is engraved with the NSF certification mark. The handle lies comfortably in the hand. These are high quality tools. Taiwan is on the blade. I didn't have to chip the edge (grind down a hard/jagged edge) like I do with other cheaper lathes I own. They will appear very large in your household cooking pots. If you're using a flat-topped pan, tools this size will work very well. The 8x4 lathe allows me to turn 2 4 inch pancakes at a time. I also flipped 2 to 10 strips of bacon at a time. 4 inches wide is a good size. The 5 inch lathe is great for large pancakes and makes a great scraper. I first bought a 6x5 lathe but found the 8x4 was fine for pan cooking. I highly recommend it if you need quality kitchen tools.
