This is the electrician's powerful diagnostic tool. I tested it last week and compared it to readings from a Fluke multimeter and an AC meter and the readings matched perfectly. One of the things I like the most is the beautiful backlit display that makes it easy to read and use. This meter can non-contact measure the presence of voltage, AC/DC current, impedance AC and DC voltage, degrees C or F, frequency, resistance, diode test, capacitance and inrush current. It also has a save mode. It even has an LED indicator between the clip's jaws to illuminate the dark fuse box. You must be extremely careful when measuring high voltages and currents as this can result in injury or death. This comment includes both AC and DC current and voltage. If you are not sure what you are doing, seek professional help. The meter comes with three AAA batteries rated at 1.5VDC and should be alkaline for long life. You need a Phillips screwdriver to insert the batteries. The device also comes with two leads for positive negative contact. In addition, there are two places for cutting wires on the back of the multimeter. There is a small but detailed instruction manual that should be read carefully. It is important that you are familiar with the use of the function key, as it is used, for example, to switch between AC and DC current measurements. The device uses a K-type thermocouple to measure temperature. I have seen many people comment that multimeters are not accurate when measuring temperature. What they don't understand is that a type K thermocouple measures temperatures up to 2300° and is not typically used to measure your body temperature. Also, your meter doesn't have cold junction compensation, so just connecting the probe to the meter will introduce a small induced error. Just trust that the K type thermocouple is widely used and is the best temperature sensor in the world. All in all, I could talk about this multimeter for an hour. It is very functional and has many features. It's a good product and my testing has proven it to be as accurate as the Fluke 87-V Multimeter and Fluke 323 AC Clamp Meter.
