Review on ๐ŸŒพ Silver Deluxe Grain Mill VKP1024 - Small Size by Ben Barrington

So far so good for Grain Mills

After cleaning and reassembling the main parts as instructed, I ran two cups of plain white rice through the mill to make sure the metal shavings were removed. (I didn't see anything, but it's a wise precaution.) I adjusted the grind as fine as possible. A few grains stayed under the hopper but they couldn't be persuaded to go into the mill so I dumped them out and made sure the mechanism was clean. When I first started grinding wheat, I was able to adjust the mill to produce even finer flour. Although the hand mill is a bit tiring, especially for those out of shape like me, in about twenty minutes I had enough flour for two loaves of bread with a little more, six to seven cups. Again there were only a few grains left between the hopper and the grinder, and a small amount of flour - maybe just a teaspoon or so. I used durum wheat and the bread was delicious. My recipe may need some tweaking to get the right consistency, but the flour is as good or better than any packaged flour I've bought and the taste is worth any adjustments I make. What I particularly appreciate is that while this mill has an electric motor, I have the option of using my own power instead. Adding the services of children or grandchildren would make the job even easier, although I have to admit I enjoyed the effort and hope to work off some of those bread calories!
