Many options in this small device. The device is powered by the OBDII connector. Alternatively, a USB device can be connected and switched on. I did this indoors and went through the registry. The software is also automatically updated to the latest versions. The update process is very simple (shown in the first two photos - both indoors and when connected to the car). SD6 allows you to select several additional services, which I also did while sitting at home. After the SD6 was updated and registered, I did initial tests on my BMW X5. After connecting to the OBDII port, SD6 recognized my car automatically. I ran a diagnostic that "talked" to all the computers in the car and showed their status. (photo shown). I didn't have any of those tasks at the moment but I tested the ABS/DSC cycle to bleed the brakes and it worked great, as did the factory tech software. I verified this by measuring the voltage and current from the fuel pump (seen in the last photo) while the car was running. Considering the cost of diagnostics (electrical connection) rivals the cost of the SD6 in many stores, this seems like an easy purchase. .
