Review on ๐Ÿš— GM LS-Series Melling M295 Internal Oil Pump, Wet Sump (Standard Volume) - Each by Rick Turner

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great product suitable for replacement

Much needed oil pump for Vortec V8. Like many of the reviews posted here. Low oil pressure with high mileage. When the car goes uphill or downhill, the valves also start ticking like crazy. Did all the research, although some say it's an oil ring around the intake manifold or a bad pump. I decided to just replace the entire assembly. My car is a 2004 GMC Envoy XL (VIN P 5.3L LM4). The overall difficulty of this car is that the front differential/countershaft/axle decoupler is connected to the oil pan. Unlike GM 4x4 trucks like Tahoe/Suburban/C or K-series pickups. The all-wheel drive system is not connected to the oil pan there. The GMT 360/370 Chevy Trailblazer/ GMC Envoy/ Buick Rainer/ Saab 9-7 X/ Isuzu Ascender have a narrower engine compartment to work with. But overall I'm happy that this pump does an excellent job of supplying the engine with oil. No more ticking uphill or downhill. If you owe GMT 360/370, be prepared to pay the shop a hefty job to get the job done, or do what I did and do the job yourself. Engine mileage 340,000 km. New oil pump, new timing chain with sprocket, timing cover.
