Actually this is the second one I've bought. I bought one for our country house (black version) and loved it so much we bought this red one for our main residence. I've used hand blenders for years (maybe a few decades) because they're so handy for blending things in their existing containers (like hot pumpkin soup still simmering in a pot on the stovetop) without the hassle and mess of transferring Separate the contents to the blender and out. They are also very easy to clean (just stick the blender in a tall glass of water). When buying a blender, three things are important to me: a powerful motor, solid workmanship and useful attachments. So far I like this blender on all three counts: * It has an 800w motor (compared to other 500w or 300w models) which gives it the ability to handle complex food blending and processing tasks to manage something. Power is adjustable with low/high buttons and a 12-speed dial*. The materials are durable. The attachments have strong connectors that snap into place and fit snugly (e.g. see the reinforced slots in the blender attachment photo and the snap connector on the food processor) * The name says 5-in-1 but I only count 4 attachments (blender , whisk, milk frother and food processor). However, the nozzles are durable and functional. I wanted more than just a blender as we use it at the country house and it replaces several small appliances in one handy package. All in all a handy, reliable, versatile and powerful kitchen tool set at a reasonable price. Price.
