I bought this for two reasons. #1 was under $12 with shipping when my local small engine repair shop said a replacement would cost $50-$75. #2 was the price - I wasn't sure if the generator would even start after I cleaned the gas tank, which was riddled with rust, and I didn't want to spend $50-$75. Anyway, I cleaned the tank - and while waiting for it to dry (used phosphoric acid) I pulled the carb out of the box, installed it, then built a 1 gallon tank and fuel line to try to start the generator. Started on the second move (because I turned off the switch on the first move). No adjustments were required. I put this on a 2006 Lifan 7000w generator that hasn't worked in 5 years.
