My boyfriend and I bought our first home together in August and soon after we adopted a kitten. My friend has a severe animal allergy, so I went online to find out how to get rid of dandruff. This X-Mite powder had great reviews so I decided to buy it along with ADS Anti-Allergy Dust Spray, Anti-Allergy Laundry Detergent and HEPA bedroom filter. The guy got hives, was very stuffy/couldn't stop sneezing and even had a wheezing/asthmatic reaction to it. So I threw away all my products. This X-Mite carpet powder covered every room in our house but one (covered 2/3 of the bedroom, living room and hallway). Just cut off a corner of the bag and sprinkle/throw it on the carpet. It will come out in clumps, but don't worry, once you've dusted off the area you want to treat, grab a broom and watch the powder go deeper into the carpet. It's the sweeping part that really helps to penetrate deeper into the carpet and provide wider coverage. I let it sit for 3 hours as stated and vacuumed it. NO MATTER! My friend didn't have a single allergic reaction after treating the carpet, sofa, bed/bedding and clothes. He can even go into the cat's room and play with it and sneeze. I will definitely buy it again to treat our carpets every 3 months.
