Why iRobot didn't ship this version with my Roomba 750 purchase I don't know. Base. With hardwood floors, the old charger was a nightmare as it could slide and slide while the Roomba was trying to dock. I tried using mats under the old version but it only helped a little. Many times I would come home to a dead space and the charger would be pushed in such a way that it was impossible to reach. I wouldn't have bought this if my old charger hadn't failed, but I'm glad I did.
