Fantastic sound and easy installation!

Unit has been in the boat for 2 weeks now, no moisture or lens fogging yet but our Weldcraft boat is well protected from the weather. Installation was easy! 3" bit, aluminum cut-out flattened, put in, shackle and 2 nuts put on, done! The wiring is standard for a car audio system, nothing surprising here. Sound quality, it shocks me! I don't really have much of this small device expected, but combined with good speakers (driven by Polk DB652 UltraMarine 6ยฝ coaxial speakers with a custom bottom plate and using the front area under the nose as a reflex zone) this stereo is incredibly loud and clear!I'm pretty anal with my car audio system, there I've been an installer for decades and a bit of an audiophile. When I heard this setup after tweaking the EQ settings, I was really shocked at how pure it really sounds! No, you won. You're not going to win a mute contest, not once in the stock class without an amp, but you'll be very happy with this main unit and a pair of QUALITY speakers n that sound good! The weather section is available when you are on the water and want to know where this storm is heading on the horizon, especially when there is no cellular coverage and you can still get a VHF signal from the NWS. I forgot to mention that there is one annoyance, at least for me, and that is USB playback. This unit will play 128GB flash drives, or at least my 128GB Sandisk USB 3.0 flash drive, but it does NOT have a folder skip function. Approximately 2800 files on the hard drive, it's almost impossible to find a folder unless you have the patience to hold down the forward/backward buttons for a few minutes! The software also has a bug that causes it to stutter and then shut down when you enable shuffle. , navigate to a folder with a file number greater than 600 or so, and then try disabling it again. You must either navigate to that file number or eject the disk, which will reset it to file #1 on the disk.
