This is a good knife for the price. We cook mainly to save money and stay healthy; but by no means gourmet or professional. It's out of balance with it, feels a little heavy and (a little) intimidating to use. I've been using this for about a month now. I have other knives of the same size/type and they are lighter and easier to use than this one. One thing I have to mention is the intimidation factor (they're damn sharp and they hold the blade longer). more cautious, resulting in far fewer finger cuts (haven't had any yet, my wife had one in a month). We also clean and put it in a case (brought it separately) immediately after use as we're concerned it'll be on the counter or in the sink. So if big knives scare you. Do not do that. That might be fine for the professional, but not for the everyday home cook.
