I have been tasked with updating our employee badges for a company with fewer than fifty employees. We used Microsoft Word, scissors and glue to give you an idea of the results. Setup was easy enough, although I found designing an icon with the included software to be less intuitive than other editing programs. However, I was happy to see that my first pattern printed on the first button press and no further troubleshooting was required. That was a big plus for this ID card printer! I'm not a graphic designer and after my initial attempts to impress my manager failed, I hired one and found a winning combination. I was able to easily use this file in the program and just added a field for a photo and a name that changes when new collaborators appear. They look very professional and now that I have a good template, printing is easy and very fast. An advice. Before printing, use a lint-free cloth or wipe the PVC badge to remove dust or stains, then hold the edges when inserting. Otherwise (small) spots may appear on the printed product. Printing on both sides has to be done by hand, but it's easy. When the first page is ready, turn it over, open the appropriate file and print it out. Voila, double-sided badge. I've printed about 10 test badges and 40 employee badges so far with no problems.
