This is actually my first time ever using Gel polish—I've never even gotten gels done at thebsalon, so my very very first impression is: WOW! I'm the person who always messes up her nails no matter HOW long I wait to dry them, or how careful I am, so these are mind blowing for me!This kit comes with absolutely everything you need, plus some instructions.LAMP: The lamp is a super cute paw shape, and is 48/24W. I wasn't sure how to tell what wattage the lamp was using; the instructions weren't clear and there was no visible difference to me when I toggled the modes. Regardless, it seems to have thoroughly cured my polish so that works for me!POLISH: I got the kit with an assortment of pink and grey polish. They're lovely, creamy colors that were easy to put on in thin layers as recommended. Two layers got me to opaque despite using a light hand. The topcoat is super smooth as well! They are definitely low odor, not any worse than typical nail polish.TOOLS: The included toolset was fairly typical of inexpensive nail tools. The foam file was great for lightly abrading the nail bed as recommended before the base coat, but I will probably continue to use the tools I already have, as well as orange sticks for cuticle pushing since I'm not comfortable scraping my nail bed with a metal scraper.INSTRUCTIONS: the instructions are very basic and not super clear about nail prep and basecoat. It dosent mention curing the base coat, which you need to do. I did some of my own research before doing my nails which is the main reason I was successful with this manicure.OVERALL: This is a great starter kit if you want to try gels for the first time, or need a basic kit to start saving money by doing your gels at home!
