This isn't the cheapest option when it comes to basic timers, but it's a favorite among many not-quite-correct options. I want to replace an egg timer I bought on a whim from Radio Shack years ago. This egg timer lasted longer - much longer - than I ever thought an inexpensive timer could be, and I was determined to find an almost exact replacement. After hours of searching and reading reviews, I decided I just couldn't find a Twist timer that seemed to match the reliability and simplicity that my favorite RS timer brought me (reliable since the 1990's!). I settled on two timers - one to stick a magnet over my stovetop that was quick to install and easy to read (this one), and another, more sophisticated Kitchenaid timer that I could theoretically use indoors and outdoors for my green egg and other hardy might use applications. Long story short, after using this great timer I returned another one and have no regrets. The design is simple, but the unique combination of an easy-to-read display, its ridiculously easy-to-set-up design, and its durability and portability gave it a (dare I say it) "je ne sais quoi" that made me forget those ugly old egg timer. The magnet is excellent; It easily attaches to the stainless steel display above the stove, but fits easily in a pocket if desired. The alarm sound is loud enough to be heard from a distance without being annoying. Yes, it starts counting again as soon as the alarm goes off. Yes, the buttons have a nice click when pressed. Yes, you can hold down the buttons to speed up the process. The best timer ever. Definitely worth the few dollars more I paid over other options. Very beautiful. I can't believe I wrote such a long review of the timer.
