Review on 8D0498998S1 Suspension Compatible 1996 2001 Volkswagen by Jeff Davidson

I purchased this kit to replace the front and rear lower control arms on the driver's side. Everything in this set is the same as the original parts except for two things. The first and most important part of my installation was the bushing that fits into the steering knuckle. In the photo you can see the original bushing, which is much thinner than the replacement part. It's not something to move or stick in a joint, it's off-period. So now I have to cancel the whole installation and tell my customer that the parts they ordered don't fit. The second incorrect part is the nut that attaches the bushing to the steering knuckle. The nut is a freely rotating washer. The replacement hub nut did not have a free-spinning washer, so I have to reuse the original one. Normally it wouldn't make much of a difference, but it's cost me time and money and I don't have time to wait for a refund or replacement. Autozone has an OEM lower control arm that I need for $55 + tax + an hour drive to the store and an hour drive back. I would give this kit 1 star but since I can use the rest of the kit I'm leaving it at 3 stars. Was purchased for the 2002 Audi A6 3.0. Check the lower control arm bushing before purchasing this kit.
