Historical Time: Every bike shop in town told me it was impossible to take my Raleigh Cadent 1 and upgrade it to drops and derailleurs without replacing all my derailleurs. You were wrong. I put them on, tightened the cables and I have absolutely NO problems. They work great with my Shimano Tourney derailleur and Shimano Altus rear derailleur. I didn't even get the tensioners properly adjusted (oops) and everything works fantastic. Fast shifting, smooth braking. Very happy with this update. My only complaint, and I mean the ONLY complaint, is that the shifter cables are coming out of the inside of the hoods making the cables look a little silly. Too bad they were fed through the bottom of their hood instead.
