These are great shifters, but the position of the thumb shifter makes it impossible to change gears when going down the drop. Which is a shame, because with a gear shift indicator and a convenient thumb shift cover position, these are really unique and really good shifters. I bought these to replace the flat bar Shimano Tourney derailleur/brake combo on my hybrid because the wide flat bars that factory fitted did not please. To me, this hybrid was like a flat-bar, low-gear road bike, and it would do well with a few drops.
