As the name suggests, it works great with a late 2018 Mac Mini, but a few words for the wise. everything works before you reassemble it - make sure your fan is spinning (0rpm is no good, this computer always has an idle speed) - Macs Fan Control is a free app to check if Your fan is working properly. With all that said and done, this RAM works great in both slots at only 64GB, but I had to do quite a bit of troubleshooting before it all worked well. The first time I tried to install, I took the whole machine apart, replaced the new RAM in both slots, put everything back together and wouldn't boot. It can take almost 10 minutes for this computer to assemble all of its tiny screws and connectors (see you there, an incredibly small and poorly placed Wi-Fi antenna!). I highly recommend leaving the computer semi-assembled and boot-testing before reassembling. I disabled the metal screen, fan, and wifi and was able to boot with no issues. Basically install RAM and just plug in the big motherboard power cable and a tiny 2 pin cable nearby and try to boot. After all that was said and done, I had to try the x6 boots before I was able to successfully restore them. Remember that this little computer is VERY FAST. When checking the boot process, simply log into the operating system, make sure that RAM shows up in your system report, and turn the device off again. First try: OEM RAM removed and replaced with x2 Samsung. = no booting (the whole computer has already been reassembled = ERROR) - 2nd: computer disassembled again, OEM RAM reinserted = booting successful - 3rd: computer left basically disassembled and x1 32GB stick installed = booting successful - 4th: installed 2nd 32GB drive = successful boot - 5th: all parts reinstalled except the bottom metal shield (aka Wi-Fi) = successful, but no fan - 6th: fan unplugged, and its tiny connector during installation slightly raised and only 2 of the 4 pins are connected. Clicked on the connector and = fully successful download. Then reinstalled all components. I hope this helps save some time for future DIYers. All in all, it took me about 45 minutes to get everything right with the troubleshooter. If I had to rebuild this whole machine every time it would easily take over 2 hours and might be hard enough to give up and go with a trusted third party.
